How to prepare in Class 3
- After a story, ask “why did that happen?” — not only “what happened?”.
- Make a family list of ten new English words each week and use them at dinner.
- Practise saying the past tense of everyday verbs: go/went, eat/ate, see/saw.

Class 3 questions parents ask
Is there a scholarship exam for Class 3 students in India?
Yes. The ANOQR Scholarship Exam is open to Class 3 students of every board — CBSE, ICSE, every State Board, IB, Cambridge and NIOS — in all states. It is taken online at home, in one hour, any day in the month's window.
What is asked in the Class 3 paper?
Class 3 is in the Standards 3–5 band. There are three sections: general knowledge (15 minutes), life skills (15 minutes) and English (30 minutes), including synonyms, opposites and tenses, a short story to read and answer, listen for details, write three sentences on a topic.
Do Class 3 students compete with older students?
No. Every class has its own merit list, so a Class 3 student is ranked only against other Class 3 students. Winners need the top score in their class and at least 60% overall.
What does a Class 3 winner receive, and what does it cost?
The fee is ₹100. Winners receive ₹1,000 on the 5th of every month for 12 months, a memento, a verifiable certificate and LangVR courses worth ₹1,00,000. Every participant gets courses worth ₹25,000 free.
