How to earn by teaching yoga or dance fitness online — from any country

A practical guide for yoga and dance instructors: filming your first classes, music rights, 360° for VR, pricing, and how a 50% revenue share is worked out.

How to earn by teaching yoga or dance fitness online — from any country

A studio caps your income at the number of bodies that fit in the room. Online, the room is the world — and a class you film once can be practised thousands of times.

Start with five classes

Members choose an instructor by trying one class. Give them a reason to stay: a 20-minute beginner class, a 45-minute full workout, a gentle or low-impact class, a 10-minute quick session and one signature class only you would teach.

Film them well — with a phone

  • Landscape, camera at chest height, your whole body in frame, from 2–3 metres.
  • Light from the front (a window behind the camera), not behind you.
  • A clip-on microphone. Members forgive a plain room; they do not forgive bad sound.
  • Cue clearly for beginners and show an easier option for every hard move.

Music: the rule that protects you

Use only music you have the right to publish — your own, royalty-free libraries, or Creative Commons tracks with the credit in your notes. Film songs and chart hits are claimed automatically and take classes down. A licensed brand name such as Zumba® may only be used under its own licence; "dance fitness" is free for everyone.

Go further with 360°

A consumer 360° camera puts the member inside your studio when they wear a headset. On Move, 360° classes join the Premium VR tier, where passes cost more — and the instructor share is the same.

How the money works on Move

Members pay ₹49 for one class, ₹499 a month or ₹2,999 a year (Premium VR costs more). Each month, 50% of the net — the price less GST and the payment gateway’s fee — goes to the instructors each member practised with, split by minutes. A member who practises only with you sends their whole half to you. The earnings simulator on the instructor page shows the arithmetic line by line.

Bring your own students with your referral link, and you also earn the referral commission on their first pass.
