ANOQR Coins: what they are, and what they are deliberately not

The fastest way to understand ANOQR Coins is the list of things they are not. They are not a cryptocurrency, not a token, not withdrawable, not transferable and not an investment. Every one of those is a decision rather than a limitation nobody got round to lifting.

The fastest way to understand ANOQR Coins is the list of things they are not.

They are not a cryptocurrency. Not a token, not on a chain, not tradeable anywhere. They are not withdrawable — no amount of coins converts into rupees. They are not transferable — you cannot send them to another member. They have no cash value, and they are not an investment.

Every one of those is a decision, not a gap somebody has yet to fill.

Then what are they for?

Coins are earned by doing things on ANOQR and LangVR, and spent on either. Clearing a level in ANOQR Games, activity on the feed, progress on a course — the earn list is on the coins page itself and it changes as products are added.

What they buy is real: a scarce ANOQR ID that is not available for rupees, entries, unlocks inside a product. The point of a coin is to give something away that has a cost to the company without turning it into a discount, and to reward the members who are actually here rather than the ones who spend the most.

Two balances, two addresses, on purpose

Your wallet at anoqr.com/wallet holds rupees. Referral earnings, creator earnings, refunds. It can be paid out to you. The wallet is explained here.

Your coins at anoqr.com/coins hold coins. They cannot.

They are kept at separate addresses specifically so nobody ever has to work out which one they are looking at. A single screen showing "balance: 2,400" with a footnote about what is and is not withdrawable is how people end up believing they are owed money they are not.

Why not transferable? It is the important one

If coins could be sent between members, they would have a price. Someone would sell 1,000 coins for ₹200, a market would form, and coins would become a currency the company had accidentally issued — with everything that implies about regulation, tax and the people who lose money in the resulting market.

The same reasoning is why there is no "sell" or "transfer" control on a scarce ANOQR ID. A name that can change hands makes coins transferable by proxy, and the wording on that page says so rather than leaving people to find out when they try.

18 and over

Coins are for members aged 18 and over. There is a one-tap confirmation before an account is opened.

School learners on LangVR keep earning XP instead, which does the same motivational job and buys nothing. That separation is deliberate: a reward that buys things is a reward with a value attached, and attaching a value to a child's schoolwork is not something to do casually.

They lapse

Coins expire after a period of inactivity on your account — the exact number of months is printed on the coins page, because it is the sort of figure that should never live only in a terms document.

Inactivity, not age. Coins do not rot on a schedule; an account that is being used keeps its balance. An account that has been dormant for the full period loses it.

The honest summary

ANOQR Coins are a loyalty mechanic, done carefully. They reward being here, they buy things that are genuinely scarce, and they are fenced so that they can never become a financial product by accident.

If what you are after is money, that is the referral programme and the creator split on ANOQR Social. Those pay rupees, into the wallet, and they pay out.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert ANOQR Coins into money?
No. Coins are never withdrawable and have no cash value. Rupees live in your wallet, which is a separate balance at a separate address and can be paid out.
Can I send coins to another member?
No, and this is deliberate. Transferable coins would acquire a market price, which would make them a currency the company had issued by accident. It is also why a scarce ANOQR ID cannot be sold or transferred.
Are ANOQR Coins a cryptocurrency?
No. They are not a token, are not on any chain, and cannot be traded anywhere. They are an in-product loyalty balance.
Who can hold coins?
Members aged 18 and over, confirmed once when the coin account is opened. School learners on LangVR earn XP instead, which buys nothing.
Do coins expire?
They lapse after a period of inactivity on the account — the exact number of months is shown on the coins page. An account in regular use keeps its balance.

Take your phone number off your windscreen

Almost every car parked in a city has a phone number on the dashboard, and almost nobody thinks of it as published. It is. Anyone who walks past can photograph it, and from then on it is theirs.
