Business networking on ANOQR: chapters, requirements and matches

Most business networking fails because everybody arrives to sell and nobody arrives to buy. A structure built around stated requirements inverts that, which is the useful part of what ANOQR networking does.

Business networking has a structural problem: everybody arrives wanting to sell and nobody arrives wanting to buy. A room of thirty people each waiting for a turn to pitch produces very little trade.

ANOQR networking is organised to invert that, around three things.

Chapters: a group you actually belong to

A chapter is a defined group rather than an open directory. That matters because trust in business referrals is local and repeated — you recommend the electrician you have used, to someone you will see again.

The practical value of a chapter is not the size of the room. It is that the same people meet repeatedly, which is the only condition under which referrals actually flow.

Requirements: saying what you need, not what you sell

This is the part worth using, and the part most members underuse.

A requirement is a posted statement of something you need — a supplier, a service, a quantity, a skill. It reverses the usual dynamic: instead of thirty businesses pitching, you get a list of things people are actively trying to buy.

If you do nothing else here, post your genuine requirements. It is the fastest way to find out whether the network has anything for you, and it makes you useful to everyone whose requirement you can answer.

Matches and connections

Matching links your business to relevant requirements and to other businesses. Connections are the relationships you keep.

Both work in proportion to how completely your business profile is filled in — category, location, what you actually do. A half-filled profile matches badly for the same reason a half-filled listing sells badly: the system is matching on the fields, and the fields are empty.

Getting value in the first month

  1. Complete the business profile properly. Category, location, what you supply, what you do not.
  2. Post two real requirements. Not aspirational ones — things you are actually trying to buy this quarter.
  3. Answer somebody else's requirement, even when there is nothing in it for you immediately. Networks run on the ledger of who has been useful, and that ledger is not metaphorical — people remember.
  4. Meet the people you connect with. A connection that never becomes a conversation is a row in a database.

What it is not

It is not lead generation. Nobody is going to hand you customers because you joined. It is a structure for finding the businesses near you that need what you have and have what you need — which is worth a lot, and is a different thing.

Where it sits with the rest of ANOQR

A business here usually also has a shop listing for customers who search by product, and posts jobs from the same credits when hiring. Networking is the business-to-business side of the same account.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chapter in ANOQR networking?
A defined local group rather than an open directory. Repeated contact between the same members is what makes business referrals actually flow.
What is a requirement?
A posted statement of something your business needs to buy — a supplier, a service, a skill. It is the most useful feature and the most underused, because it reverses the usual everyone-is-selling dynamic.
Why am I not getting good matches?
Usually an incomplete business profile. Matching runs on category, location and what you do, so empty fields match badly.
Is ANOQR networking a lead generation service?
No. It is a structure for finding nearby businesses that need what you supply and supply what you need. Nobody hands you customers for joining.
How does networking relate to the rest of my ANOQR account?
It is the business-to-business side of the same account. The same login also covers a shop listing for customers and job postings from the same credit pool.

Share & Earn: turning an audience into commission

Share & Earn is the other earning surface on ANOQR, and it is not the referral program. One pays you for bringing members; the other pays you for sharing specific campaigns. Knowing which is which decides where your effort goes.

The ANOQR startup directory, and what a listing is for

A startup directory listing is not fundraising. It is being findable — by an investor scanning a sector, by a partner looking for exactly what you build, by a first customer. Those are different jobs, and only one of them is yours to do here.
